CWA Board Members and Program Committee Members: I’m writing to share an exciting summer leadership development opportunity for any promising teens members of the Cleveland Water Alliance may know. Foresight Prep @ Oberlin College (www.foresightprep.org) is an unparalleled pre-college summer program that empowers high schoolers to succeed as students, change-makers and future professionals in sectors that are being shaped by complex, rapidly evolving challenges like climate change, resource scarcity, and poverty. Each two-week seminar will explore the future of its particular topic through the lens of sustainability. Washington, D.C. June 20th, 2015 All Day – June 28th, 2015 National Native American Youth Initiative (NNAYI) provides an intense summer program for American Indian and Alaska Native high schools students. This week long event is designed to prepare and motivate students to pursue a career in health care or biomedical research. 2015 ITEP Student Summer Internship Apply now for an 8-week summer internship.   Spend your summer working with environmental organizations to address tribal environmental issues, either technical/education or policy related.  The internship program provides each student intern with a stipend, and limited housing and travel allowances. Host sites are selected from tribal environmental organizations, government offices, the US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and others.  Up to eight intern positions are focused on technical/educational issues and at least three intern positions are focused on policy issues. Sent on Behalf of Jeff Vance, Director of Employment Programs 2015 Summer Youth Employment Program Career Services will begin this year’s application process during the following period, February 9th through April 17th. Participants must be 16 to 21 years of age (at time of application) and a member of a federally recognized tribe. Applicants must reside within the Cherokee Nation tribal jurisdiction.
