CWA Board Members and Program Committee Members: I’m writing to share an exciting summer leadership development opportunity for any promising teens members of the Cleveland Water Alliance may know. Foresight Prep @ Oberlin College (www.foresightprep.org) is an unparalleled pre-college summer program that empowers high schoolers to succeed as students, change-makers and future professionals in sectors that are being shaped by complex, rapidly evolving challenges like climate change, resource scarcity, and poverty. Each two-week seminar will explore the future of its particular topic through the lens of sustainability. Nominate or Recommend a High School Student for the Gates Millennium Scholarship   The Nominator must be an educator; teacher, counselor, principal, etc., who can speak specifically to the student’s curriculum and academic performance.   The Recommender can be someone in any number of roles; a teacher, counselor, coach, spiritual leader, employer, tribal leader, etc. and can speak to the nominee’s community involvement and leadership.   Nominees will need both a Nominator and a Recommender to complete their application.  Your insight on this nominee can make an enormous difference in evaluating their candidacy for the Gates Millennium Scholarship Program. Deadline to apply is February 4, 2015        College Horizons 2015 is hosted by Bowdoin College and Stanford University this year. Native American students in the 10th or 11th grade are invited to apply for this six day college admissions workshop.
