Dear Central & SW Oklahoma Engineering & Technical Professionals:
This is Curtis Vickery, Chair of the Central/SW Chapter of OSPE (Okla. Society of Professional Engineers). In conjunction with Engineers Week, we are again sponsoring the Joint Engineering Societies Banquet (JESB). This annual event will be held Thursday, February 26 at the Oklahoma Christian University Gaylord Student Center in Edmond, OK.
This banquet seeks to highlight Engineers Week events that occur in our region and to promote engineering and technology to students. Our speaker will be Mr. C. Michael Ming, General Manager of the new General Electric Global Research Oil & Gas Technology Center in Oklahoma City. Mr. Ming has also served as Oklahoma Secretary of Energy under Governor Mary Fallin. His program will include description of the new center along with current research interests and career opportunities.
Also featured at the banquet will be student participants in engineering and technology related programs including MATHCOUNTS, Future City, and Engineer for a Day.
With this contact I have strived to reach current representatives from our many area engineering and technical societies. We need your help to advise your local members of this event. We hope for a big crowd! I apologize if you have been errantly contacted. If so, would you please advise me of better contact persons for your society chapter?
Ticket price will be $17 each. We plan to offer an on-line registration process and will advise when it is ready. In the meantime you may contact me and we can arrange for payment by check (the old-fashioned way).
I hope you and other society members will attend the JESB this year!
